Encryption

Encryption and encapsulation#

The Intelligent Network Fabric consists of TAPs created on each link, which encapsulate the data between two endpoints. These TAPs use industry standard tunneling protocols such as OpenVPN and Fastd.

All data packets are encrypted as standard, although this can be disabled per connection.

Default encryption is AES 256bit although other standards are available depending on the tunneling method.

Service edge interfaces#

Where interconnects to third party networks, datacentres and services are required, a wider range of tunneling protocols are available.

Depending on the requirements and the endpoint management, different encryption standards can be set depending on which methods are chosen.
